The skill uses the openhue CLI to communicate with your Philips Hue Bridge over your local network. Here's the flow:Discovery — The CLI finds your Hue Bridge on the local network.Pairing — On first use, you press the button on your Hue Bridge to authorize the connection.Command execution — Your agent runs commands like openhue set light, openhue set room, or openhue set scene to control your lights in real time.Feedback — The CLI confirms the action, allowing the agent to report back on what changed.

Light Control — Turn individual lights on or off, adjust brightness (0–100), set color temperature (153–500 mirek), or change color by name or hex value.Room & Zone Control — Apply settings to entire rooms at once — great for quick whole-room dimming or brightening.Scene Activation — Trigger named Hue scenes (e.g., "Relax", "Concentrate") in any room with a single command.Quick Presets — Built-in presets for common moods: bedtime (dim warm), work mode (bright cool), and movie mode (very dim).Resource Listing — Query all available lights, rooms, and scenes so the agent knows exactly what's controllable.Local Network Operation — All commands run locally over your home network — no cloud dependency after initial setup.

Philips Hue Bridge — A Hue Bridge (v2 recommended) must be connected to your local network and reachable from the machine running the agent. Required.Color-Capable Bulbs — Color and RGB commands only work on color-capable Hue bulbs; white-only bulbs support brightness and color temperature only. (Optional — white-only bulbs still work for on/off and dimming.)

Bedtime Routine — Ask your agent to "set the bedroom to sleep mode" and it dims the lights to 20% with a warm 450 mirek tone.Focus Sessions — Trigger bright, cool lighting in your office automatically when you start a work block.Movie Night — Dim the living room to 10% brightness with a single request before you hit play.Scene Switching — Activate any of your saved Hue scenes by name across any room, without touching the app.
