It enables you to search millions of papers by keyword, author name, subject category, or arXiv ID, and instantly retrieve rich metadata including titles, abstracts, author lists, publication dates, and direct links to PDFs and abstract pages โ€” all without needing an API key.

How It Works

When you ask your assistant to find research papers or retrieve a specific arXiv entry, this skill queries the free public arXiv REST API (export.arxiv.org/api). It parses the response and returns structured paper metadata to the assistant, which can then summarize, compare, or hand off PDF URLs to a companion PDF/OCR skill for full-text reading. The skill respects arXiv's API rate limits to ensure reliable and polite access.
