Three-mode document translator (quick, normal, refined) with custom glossaries, chunking, and publication-quality polish workflows.
npx clawhub@latest install baoyu-translateBaoyu Translate is a structured translation skill that converts articles and documents between languages using three progressively thorough modes: quick (direct translation), normal (analyze then translate), and refined (analyze, translate, review, and polish to publication quality). It handles long-form content via intelligent markdown-aware chunking, maintains terminology consistency through merged glossaries, and saves all intermediate files for full transparency. Configurable via an EXTEND.md preferences file that persists your target language, style, audience, and custom glossaries across sessions.
Choose quick for fast direct output, normal (default) for analysis-informed translation with an upgrade prompt to continue polishing, or refined for a full 6-step publication-quality pipeline: analyze → draft → critique → revise → polish.
For content exceeding 4,000 words, the skill splits markdown at block boundaries (headings, paragraphs, lists, code blocks, tables) using a bundled chunk.ts script. Chunks are translated in parallel via subagents when available, then merged — ensuring structural integrity and terminology consistency throughout.
Store your default target language, mode, audience, style, and custom glossaries in an EXTEND.md file. The skill checks three locations in priority order (project → XDG config → home directory) and guides you through a first-time setup if no file is found.
Merge inline glossary entries, external glossary files, and a built-in EN→ZH reference glossary. On long documents, the skill pre-extracts proper nouns and recurring terms before chunking to guarantee consistent translations across the entire document.
Control voice and tone independently of audience with presets including storytelling, formal, technical, literal, academic, business, humorous, conversational, and elegant. Custom style descriptions (e.g., --style "poetic and lyrical") are also accepted.
Every translation run saves its working files — analysis, assembled prompt, draft, critique, revision — in a named output directory alongside the final translation.md. Nothing is lost, and every decision is auditable.
Paste or point to an English article, choose normal mode, and get a Chinese translation with domain terminology consistently rendered. After completion, reply "继续润色" to trigger the review and polish steps for a publication-ready result.
For a 10,000-word markdown specification, the skill extracts terminology, splits the document into chunks, translates them in parallel via subagents, and merges the output — all while enforcing a shared glossary to keep technical terms consistent across sections.
Use refined mode with --style academic or --style business and --audience academic or --audience business to produce a polished translation that matches the register and tone expected by professional or scholarly readers.
Configure an EXTEND.md once with your preferred target language, style, and a project-specific glossary. Every subsequent translation in that project automatically inherits these settings without re-specifying them.
